The trick is to get an overall description of the seeds if you're using them
to help identify an iris... the average, not the individual. Spuria seeds
will not look like Siberian seeds will not look like Bearded iris seeds,
etc.
Depending on how crowded the seeds were in the pod the shape of individual
seeds can vary quite a bit especially for those crammed into the very ends
of the chambers. Color, if the pod has been opened to the weather for quite
some time before harvesting, can change the color of some seeds. Size
variances can be due to any number of factors.
