Linda,
We put these seeds into the fridge on Labor Day weekend. Traditionally, we
put them in on Labor Day and remove them on Thanksgiving, give or take a day
or two.
I can't begin to guess what temp this fridge is at. It is an old
refrigerator (@ 20 years) and is used mainly for keeping diet coke cold <G>.
In years gone by I have put the seeds in the vegetable crisper but this year
it was full of apples so I just stuck them in a cake pan on a shelf. I am
guessing here but I think that fluctuating temps would not be bad. This is
based on the fact that the temps outside would fluctuate much more. Maybe
they just aren't ready yet <G>.

Now I'm wondering about refrigerator temperatures <g>. None of mine
germinated while in the fridge & only a few germinated once seeds were
potted after 3 mos in the fridge.
My fridge temps are not as stable as I'd like - you know the syndrome,
everything is fine for weeks at a time, then suddenly, it decides to
freeze the lettuce if it's on the top or bottom shelf (not the middle
ones). Maybe I need to set it a bit warmer? Colder, so the lettuce
always freezes?
Or was maybe 3 months in the fridge not long enough?
