Now there's a thought...the apples, I mean. Can some of our 
horticulturally-trained comment on ethylene gas from the apples and 
seed storage? Seems I've often read "don't put this or that next to 
apples or the ethylene gas will...". A quick glimpse via Google 
showed lots of positive uses. How about damp iris seeds with the 
apples in the refrigerator?
