More tidbits rom Vallette, Iris Culture and Hybridizing for Everyone,
1961.
This book is a compilation of information from Robins (snail version of
this forum, more or less). She rarely gives sources of information, &
doesn't even include a list of people who were involved in the Robins.
It's all bits and pieces of information, organized by topics and
threaded together in a wonderful hodgepodge of anecdotal efforts, &
usually no way of knowing what climate she's reporting about, unless she
has contradictory information from different parts of the country.
She doesn't mention the southeastern soggy problems or moderating
influence of the Atlantic Ocean, but does distinguish between east and
west of the Rockies.
