Sorry--the correspondence was personal, not part of the Robin(s)--
which as I recall numbered in the plural, not singular, as you 
rightly cite.  However, her material was gleaned not alone from 
robins.  She did not hesitate to tap the wisdom of experience of 
people like Orville Fay, Paul Cook the Nashville group and others of 
equal stature.

  Wilma was one of the Region 11 Garden Judges (using the old 
nomenclature) and, as such, one of those who helped train and sponsor 
me as I began the adventure of becoming an Exhibition Judge, then 
later Garden Judge, and eventually RVP for a single year of the 
region.  I resigned prematurely for reasons having to do with my 
responsibilities in closing down our farming operations and moving 
into full-time involvement in the church, Seminary, then ordination,  
caused a quarter-century break in my involvement with irises.  It was 
not until a few years ago I rejoined the AIS, mostly thanks to Keith 
Keppel's efforts to locate and contact me, much to my astonishment 
and delight. That renewed an old friendship that had begun in the 
late fifties.

I might add one personal note about Wilma--when we set up a Regional 
Test Garden in Fruitland (several miles north of Keith Chadwick's and 
Lucille Pinkston's present locations) Wilma was by far the most 
cooperative and generous of the Region 11 hybridizers of those times 
in sending materials from her breeding lines.  It gave great delight 
to visitors and to us local folks to see what she had been doing.  
Her home was 150-plus miles from our location, so we had not had 
opportunity in pre-Interstate days to see her work.  Much of it 
deserved much wider exposure than it got.
