OK, gang, let's backtrack a bit. When Dave quoted my message about
introduction criteria, he did not include the following notation --
"The American introduction stipulation is strictly for qualifying
for our awards", meaning American Iris Society awards.
We are happy to, and wish to, record the introduction of an iris,
regardless of origin and regardless of site of introductions -- in fact,
we WANT to, for historical documentation.
In the case of an iris introduced in France, it can be recorded as
introduced once the registrar's office receives proof of
introduction...which could be a French catalogue, or as noted by Ellen,
hard copy of a website offering, or simply the relay of introduction
information from our French associate registrar, Jean Peyrard.
This information does NOT apply to bulbous irises, which are under the
jurisdiction of the KAVB (Dutch Bulbgrowers Association).
