My answer is yes. I have been hybridizing with the
aphyllas for a number of years now and when I cross
them with TBs, most of the seedlings are TB in size.

Also, someone asked about gaining branching/losing
branching when using parents that lack branching. I
find that when I cross aphyllas with TBs, often the
resulting TB sized seedlings will have better
branching and bud count than its TB parent. And I
notice that the branching is longer, wider and more
slender than the TB parent. And being tetraploid, most
of the seedlings will be fertile so you could continue
to breed with them.
