Betty - I think that the charge for the electronic access, and keeping it higher than the yearly R&I, should offset any cost issue the AIS board might have, while keeping folks that want just the books happy too. I imagine there are even a few folks who would like both. Personally, I think it would be wonderful to get rid of all my computers but I have to do something to keep me in dog biscuits!

As far as the delay in getting the online version after the print version is released, there is the consideration that the online version does in fact need more work than the printed one. It has to be indexed, and I believe there are several indexes required (consider all the different things you can search for). Since the cost to get the online access would be nowhere near enough to pay someone to do this work, I am guessing it has to be done by the ever shrinking base of volunteers, so even a year doesn't sound like that much to me.

Of course, I could just be pulling all these guesses out of smiling bill's imagination! ;-)

Supplying both the paper version and the electronic version would add additional expense to the process. The board might be resistant to this idea.
Just some thoughts.
