Re: HYB: Basics 101

All right, I'm confused as usual. Am so anxious to learn, I don't even care
if I'm showing my ignorance.

I thought pink was recessive. I thought there was a whole array of iris that
could be carrying pink, but masked by other colors. When crossed with a pink
iris, who contributed only pink genes, a portion of the offspring would be
some shade of pink.

Part of my plan was to cross different pinks to cold zone rebloomers, then
cross the seedlings to different pink lines or each other. If this is doomed
to failure, please tell me now! How do pinkish plicatas like Autumn Tryst
figure in to this? What do darker tones like Newlywed, Mulberry Echo, Ever
After do to the mix?

Somebody help me!
