Neil,
Is the Glaciata gene the pl a? (So it should be pl-super a)
It is harder when you can't use the subscripts and
superscripts. I should have thought to write the I-sub s.
I read up on the white section in TWOI before I posted and
I thought the pl super a must be glaciata, but it didn't
say for sure. (I'm not sure if the term glaciata was
accepted at the time it was published)
Not knowing the dosages of I is what makes me concerned.
Certainly with tetraploids it isn't terribly easy to be
certain, or at least so I would imagine.
Thank you especially for giving the examples of dosage.
Knowing familiar cultivars like EMMA COOK and KEVIN'S THEME
really helped me.
I did make a ton crosses with one white parent this year.
So it will be interesting to see what I get. I will still
be crossing pretty much blind this coming year, so I am
trying to pick up as much as I can before bloom season in
hopes of shortening that learning curve. Once I get some
seedlings, I will hopefully feel a bit more confident.
Thanks everyone!
Robin
