The AIS wanted TBIS to become a Section, and removed that rule in an attempt to remove the impediment. Apparently it was not enough.

Since that time, AIS has abolished that rule for all Sections. I don't know what other requirements TBIS wanted changed. They were offered and turned down Cooperating Society status which did not have the membership requirement.

TBIS asked to become a Cooperating Society, and the AIS board turned them down.
