Actually, the past two years and again next year, TBIS has had its meeting at
the invitation of a Regional Tour. The Region (18 and 21) invited TBIS to
attend the tour that was already set up (TBIS did not set up a tour of its own)
and none directly conflicted with AIS (close but then TBs bloom when they
will!).
This arrangement was and is a boost for the Region with out-of-Region TBIS
people attending/registering for the Tour and the hotel provided the meeting
room. Most Regions, I think, try very hard not to conflict with the AIS
Convention dates and this arrangement has successfully tried to avoid "competition"
with AIS dates as well as being a plus for the Region and little or no cost to
TBIS and, as Dana Brown pointed out, provides fun and information to all.
