Donald (and anyone else interested), I measured the dead standing stalks
on VIOLET MIRACLE (those from the clump in the photo), and allowing for
flower height, they were about 40 inches tall, which is registered
height for this cultivar.

I wish I had seedlings from this one, darn it all!

For contrast, the stalk on newly aquired (hence only stunted this year,
I hope) UNBELIEVABLE LOVE, just down the row from VM, was around 12 to
14 inches tall.  More typical for rebloom (and often for spring bloom)
here.
