In central New Mexico the Honey Bees were knocked down hard during one
season (three or four years ago - more? - can't remember). Anyway, the
next year they were back strong, been here in what I would consider normal
numbers since. The native bees that I'm familiar with didn't seem
affected, but some might have been? Don't have honeybees in my yard, I'm
too far away from reliable water and flowers, and they haven't found my
little oasis yet; however, native insects seem to do a bang-up job making
"bee" pods on my Iris (most years).
