Well, we had some this summer thanks to my Lambs Ear and such.
But, on a similar note. Three weeks ago, Bob and I got into a
yellow jackets nest and they followed us back to the house and
we were both stung badly. I actually stripped before entering the
house as they were all over my clothing. Stinging through my shirt
and all. I had 3 stings on top my head, 5 on my right arm and two on
my left arm and hand. Bob had 5 on one hand, and several on his arms.
It was horrible. Some of them got in the house with us and we were
swatting them with the flyswat, horrible experience. Hope it never
happens again.
We had several purple and several white irises blooming and then last
night it dropped to 29F , guess that will stop the re bloom , huh? Little
yellow Sun Doll was also blooming again. The weather has everything confused
around here. Had lots of daylilies still going too.

Okay, here's a new topic. This year, for the first time in several years, I
saw honey bees in my gardens. I hope that means that they're surviving the
onslaught of the mite that has been affecting them. Has anyone else seen a
return/increase of honey bees? -- Griff
