I have a friend who is a beekeeper, and he told me within the last six
months that 'wild' bees could not survive the mite. I understood that to
mean that there is a genetic tolerance perhaps from the 'domestic' bees.
But I could be totally off base.
You could try following the bees and see if they come from a box or a tree
