Hi all,

One of my housemates, Jean Richter, grows a bunch of
Austin iris, and we have a number of his old catalogs.
I think some of the pictures (and surely some of the
hype!) are inaccurate, but many of them are pretty
much what the iris look like in our garden.

He died in I think 1964 or so.  Mary Hess, who runs
BLUEBIRD HAVEN IRIS GARDEN, bought a lot of his
stock (she advertises in AIS Bulletin and ROOTS, the
HIPS publication).

We've scanned a number of the Austin catalogs, and
can put them on a CD if anyone is interested (each
page is a JPEG image).
