There is an alleged photo in Kohlein, p. 184. The caption reads "Iris
varbossiana probably is not a true species, but a stabilized form that was often
seen growing wild near castles and fortresses. This example is from the
Botanical Gardens in Zagreb."
Yes, I know, that is a highly diffuse set of suppositions to be put forth
without further discussion or citations. Good old Kohlein.
