This one finally died this past month.  There were a couple of tiny  little 
fans left and I guess the freezes did it in.  2005 was extremely hot  (and I 
had health issues) so I planted all the incoming irises in pots.   TENDERLY was 
the only iris that didn't put out roots while in the pot.   Apparently it 
didn't put out roots once it was in the ground either.
