Anybody miss me? My computer died in July. Just got the new one (to me) up Friday night. No photo program yet, but soon. Offhand, I can think of 3 possible explanations. 1 - The new one is not the same. Could be genetic 'drift' or even a seed that managed to grow up. Unlikely. 2 - The new one has not fully adapted to life at your place. This has taken a good 3 years here, when coming from radically different climate and/or soil base. 3 - Location. No matter how much I amend the soil, I still have spots infull sun where iris just don't seem to do as well. You would have to plantthem all together (old - new - old - new) to really test this theory. They would also need to be same size when planted for comparison. Your PFIC1 went backward this year, as did many others in the ridiculous weather here. Specific whining on that subject will be coming soon in my annual Indiana rebloom report. Fall Maidens: Mesmerizer X Again And Again, Bonus Mama X Forever Blue, 2 of Twilight Fancies X Clarence (first one in August), 2 of Tenderly X October Splendor, and a Silk Romance X October Splendor that freaked me out by opening the first bloom flat. If any of these are going to set the world on fire, they're hiding it well behind frost and stress damage.
