When I moved to Central Florida (100 mi. south of Jacksonville) I brought 100 or so bearded irises with me. The following year I had 50% bloom. The
year after that 1% then they were gone. They really do need to have a
winter to trigger the following years bloom. Where I am we get a week or
two that gets down to 35 deg F. It's just not enough.

There have been no reports of anyone getting bloom with bearded iris

South Florida. Probably because you don't have the winter
temperatures
plant need for blooming.

Is anyone else looking for help growing irises in south Florida? I
would
love to talk with you about my experiences with bearded irises. I
planted
them early this year and while they produced leave there were no
flowers.
Does it take a year or more before that happens?
Let me know from anyone in zone 9 or 10. That's my zone
