Hello Everyone,
Feeling frustrated because we still don't have the October bulletin and
you do! Out here in the west, THORNBIRD looks like you describe it in the
bulletin. Wish I could see it to judge, but here's what we have photos of
from last season. We have large spoons that are orchid with falls below
showing orchid as well. We have an excellent photos of this but we were
hesitant to put them on our web site because it didn't show the pointy
little horns as in the catalogues. Later as it continued to bloom the
flounces did evolve into large, pointy, dark violet horns. Our THORNBIRD
produced huge, first blooms all hosting sturdy, erect spoons that reached
up and out in a spectacular display. Maybe we should put a picture on our
web site after all?
