Hi Walter,

I do grow THORNBIRD, and yes, it has a little violet in the falls, but not
quite as much as the cover picture shows. As you may or may not know, space
agers can be quite variable in their appendages. Sort of a now-you-see-it-now
you-don't complex on their part. Thornbird and Trumpet Concerto are two of
the more dependable ones, but even they will vary. I guess the flounces on
the cover picture just indicate it was in a good humor the day the pictue was
taken.

Thornbird is at its best in a large clump. Individual blooms don't show it at
its best.
