I have noticed that some of the older Irises (historics) appeared to
have some degree of resistance (or tolerance, perhaps) to the Iris Borer.
I am wondering if it would be possible to hybridize this trait back into
future introductions. I know that this would "set back" the development of
new colors, large flowers, etc. But wouldn't this be better than poisoning
ourselves with pesticides?
