Rusty,
It is not too late, if you haven't gotten too far along in the project.
Take a lot of photos to show what you have done, and document the rest
of the steps. Make sure you are using slide film, so they an be
projected. I'm not real keen on videos, as you either need to keep pace
with the video, or end up stopping and starting it. You would probably
want to encourgae questions as you go along in your presentation, rather
than after, as you already have the slide up on the screen and can
immediately go into greater detail while the audience is with you rather
than waiting until the end when the attention will begin to wander
rapidly. The questions might also give you a perfect segue into your
next slide as well.
