In my previous posting, I described the number of bloomstalks coming
from a rhizome for some of my rebloomers. What I meant was that I
planted a single rhizome last fall, and that some had increased to the
point that I had multiple bloomstalks this fall arising from the
increases. I did not mean to imply that 3 bloomstalks were coming from
the single original rhizome. For some varieties, I planted more than
one rhizome, each in a different location. I wasn't sure what the
best location would be. I have had rebloom in each location that I
tried, but usually at different times. I'm sorry if this may have caused
some confusion.
At 4:30am, my indoor-outdoor thermometer registered 26 deg. F. i was
very glad that I cut so many irises yesterday. I don't know yet the
effects outdoors, but there was plenty of frost this morning and ice in
the birdbath.
Leaves are falling rapidly. the sun is shining!
