Books

Christy asked about sources of illustration on iris seed pods. Two
books that have quite a few line drawings of the seed pods of different
species are Dykes classic book on irises "The Genus Iris" and Waddick
and Zhao's book on "Iris of China".

Mark asked about Glasgow's book from New Zealand. This is a very lovely
paperback with excellent photographs of may of the species and some
cultivars of irises. Although the seasons are backwards, it is well
worth the cost, in my opinion.

Ian, in Ottawa where the unseasonable snow has stopped all autumn clean
up work and the temperature is about -8C last night.
