The Big Sky Iris Club had it's annual banquet and final meeting of the year
tonight. Out going officers (two year terms) were presented with a gift
certificate (IOU) for an Iris of their choice or the Seedling Test Iris
Package from the new 1998 Schreiner's catalog. Not bad !! Had a wonderful
pot-luck dinner, round one of overeating for the holidays. Entertainment
was provided by the incoming VP's husband. It consisted of several rounds
of Cowboy Poetry and a couple songs accompanied by guitar. May sound
strange if your not from our part of the world, but a good time was had by
all. Colloquial camaraderie at its best. Yours truly was elected President
for the upcoming 2 years and will be installed at the first meeting in
March. Anyone out there in our neighborhood interested in talking about
irising in this climate, or interested in our club, please feel free to

In Big Sky Country, where the Iris are all put to bed for a long winter's
nap, and visions of spring blooms dance in our heads.
