Ian,
The African Iris (Dietes) is a commonly used landscaping plant in this
area. It is also a very popular garden plant here. Growers recommend that
it be placed in a location that will get full sun at least half of the day.
Thus, if this plant is to be grown in such locations in Florida, it
requires high light intensities.
If you wish to continue growing this plant, when indoors, it should be
place in a sunny, south facing window. In summer, after being "hardened
off," the potted Dietes should be put in the sunniest, hottest exposure you
have.
