Kathy,
What are your Setosa breeding goals? You know, if your Cranberry Setosa
clone is unique enough, you can name it and register it with the
American Iris Society. Is this clone what you are using in your
breeding?
I am trying to grow the Setosas for the first time. I started them from
seeds purchased from SIGNA, the Species Iris Group of North America.
They germinated quite well in pots and I planted them in my Louisiana
bed this past October. Time will tell how well they do. Old timers,
strike that, mature people here tell me that they will die out for lack
of cold winters. But I'm always one to go against conventional wisdom.
Welcome to the iris-l and hope to be hearing more from you.
