Kathy -- A good basic book on genetics is GENETICS IS EASY, by Philip
Goldstein, Lantern Press, New York, NY 10010. My copy is the 4th
edition, published in 1967. You might look for it (and the publisher) on
the Internet. It has nothing specifically on iris, but covers plant
genetics extensively. If you have a used book store in Anchorage, they
might be able to find a copy for you, if they don't have it themselves.
Failing all that, the library might have something useful.

Griff Crump, along the tidal Potomac near Mount Vernon, VA, who thought
today would be a good opportunity to excavate his desk, but, while
testing his new binoculars, found that the markers in the main seedling
bed have faded to illegibility, and, thus, spent the day you-know-where.
Ah, well. jgcrump@erols.com
