GC is an iris that I got 20? years ago before I knew how fussy so many
TBs are here. It has been trucking along, first out in the fescue
invaded 'trial beds', then in the beds that have been totally smothered
in tall phlox and now are in dense shade from hybrid poplar. I may have
to buy some to 'rescue' it - not sure it's still out there, but judging
from how well Tompkins' irises do here compared to so many other
hybridizers, I do want to get it recaptured and labelled. It never did
spectacularly, only blooms now and then, but never died in spite of
intense neglect.

It's been a while since I saw one of its flowers, but as I recall it is
a complete self, what I would call a clear warm dark tan. A nice color,
but not a great clump former/reliable bloomer here. Which is not saying
anything, given how stressful garden conditions can be, but it is
another SURVIVOR.
