BUCKWHEAT is the champion rebloomer here this year. Every rhizome that
could produce a stalk is doing so, from ones about to bloom to some still
down in the fan. First flower should open in a couple of days. Now we can
worry about the coming cold weather spoiling the show.
One stem on a large clump of IMMORTALITY, a few more coming on AUTUMN BUGLER.
And, hey, I just got to brag. My Brugmansia suaveolens, five years old
from seed, ten feet tall and 5 feet wide, has now opened 53 blooms in the
living room, spreading its delightful perfume through the house. When it's
done, I'll cut it down again and move it into the greenhouse to regenerate
for next year. You're missing something if you don't grow this terrific
easy-to-manage "vegetable prodigy."
