Jeff: In regard to John Ohl connection with JUNGLE SHADOWS, I will tell you
the story. We visited Helen at the El Dorado Garden one year and John Ohl and
Henry Sass were there and we visited and drank coffee with them most of the
afternoon. John and Henry gave each of us (four of us from Hutchinson Iris
Club) a start of JS. They told us they hybridized it together, along with
Helen. John was growing it in his garden and so was Helen. That is the first
time we saw it. I didn't like it then, and I still don't care much for it, but
because I met them and they gave it to me I kept it for a long time, but had to
pick and choose each time I moved and it went by the wayside. (I'm a pastor's
wife, so have moved several times). I know it was introduced by Henry, but
John and Helen both had a hand in it, too. Hope this helps why I mentioned
John Ohl.
