planting

From: "Patricia R. Wenham" <prw@televar.com>

Hello!

I am back on the list again. I will be moving in a month but will still
have the same e-mail address.

I have dug the iris I received from three of the list members and all
the ones I purchased last year. I have a bank next to my new house
because we are in the flood plain. I planted many of my iris on the
bank and they seem quite happy there.

This was a year of intense color and lovely blooms. I can't wait to see
how many will bloom next year after being replanted this year. Some
twice. This is my last month at work before retirement and I plan to
figure out how to send things from my scanner to people on the
internet. I really enjoyed the Seattle Filmworks photos that list
members shared.

I got a new computer and had a few problems getting it installed because
I did not think about things which looked as if they were connected not
really making a connection. I thought that was all taken care of and
things going smoothly when I could no longer send e-mails except to a
few local friends. I could not receive e-mail from any eastern areas.
It took almost a month for the server to find the problem and solve it.

I have one fairly shallow tub of iris which will probably have to remain
in the tub because I have had some biopsies and surgery is imminent so I
will be unable to dig and plant till after hard frost. I plan to keep
the tub in the garage in a spot just above freezing where it will get
very little light. Is this okay? Does anyone have any suggestions
about this?

Patti
