With the really hot days we had last week, there was barely a moist
stigma in the garden, and so few buds opened after the devestation of
the previous weeks frost, which left the buds looking 'mummified'.
This method would be OK, in a normal situation, where only the stigma
you are trying to pollenate has dried out.
I seem to be getting a few takes from last weeks efforts, so may yet
have something to grow next year.
