Hi Dana

You are quite a ways south of me, I am zone 7, but I don't understand the fall
foliage. I am quite well known around Oklahoma parts for growing and showing
some pretty good dutch irises, albeit some cuss me for it as several of the
iris societies around here still allow blue ribbons on Dutch irises to count
towards the sweepstakes or medal race. But in all my get-together I have
NEVER seen dutch send up FALL foliage! Lordy I hope I've not done something
wrong but we are suddenly being struck with lightening here!

I do get fall foliage ALWAYS on all the grape hyacinths (muscari) I have.
Some say it is so you will know where they are so you won't try to plant
something new over them!

My Dutch multiply slowly but always come back year after year and make an
excellent addition to my gardens IMHO & I enjoy seeing them at the shows, even
if they are bulbous & not registered with AIS in R&I's.

Now to get off here before I get struck with another bolt!

Cheers! Kath in OKC, AIS Region 22, USDA Zone 7
