I support correcting known errors in the Checklists in any AIS electronic
research tool produced. However, both the original published errors and the
corrections must be presented and any newly rectified omissions clearly
identified.
Two issues are involved: First is the actual history of a given iris as
presented in the corrected listing, and then there is the history of the iris
as it was previously published. The latter may be important to scholars. Thus
any corrections must be added--say in red or different type or as an
interliner phrase ---to the existing text rather than replacing it.
