Although there are more intricate databases for daylilies on the net, this is the one that I use the most. 

You might want to notice that although the database is copyrighted, the information is public record and available to anyone. 

Search can be easily made using the name of the hybridizer or cv (even *part* of the cv's name).
 
It's by no means complete, but I would think that something similar could be put together for irises. I've done some volunteer work copying information from the hybridizers' catalogs for updating some of these databases and with enough volunteers, a coordinator shouldn't have much work to pull it together. 

Just a thought.
