I have in the yard that would work arn't space age ( Spinning Wheel,
Theater,& Dutch Girl).
Hi Theresa,
Sounds like you and I (and a few others on the list) are kindred
spirits. I too, like Conjuration tremendously. I was reading your
comments regarding crossing Conjuration with other things. It sounds to
me like you are under the impression that you must cross two SA irises
to get more SA irises. This is not true. You can cross Conjuration with
non horned irises and you will find quite a number of horns popping up
in its seedlings.
Somewhere in one of the more recent bulletins there is an article by
George Sutton regarding breeding SA iris. One comment that sticks in my
head is that he said when you cross two SA irises, the seedlings tend to
be very messed up. I can't remember the exact words he used but
apparently very unstable, missing petal parts, extra petal parts etc.
etc.
Also, Conjuration is not a plicata as far as I know so I wouldn't worry
about crossing it to blue plicatas unless that is what you are after.
