The Fall edition of the SJI REVIEW has just arrived and is OUTSTANDING!!!
For anyone interested, one can join the Society for Japanese Irises by first
joining AIS, and then sending $3.50 (single annual membership) or $4.00
(family annual..... $9 and $10.50 respectively for triennial).
If you're not a member of AIS, and just want a subscription to the REVIEW
without membership privileges, the cost is the same.
The REVIEW is published twice a year and is a high-quality publication. There
is information in this issue on the upcoming Portland Convention (don't miss
it!!!!!), on various JI shows, a garden review, the JI popularity poll and the
Payne Medal winners, and a thought-provoking article on Reblooming JI's. The
cover shot looks like Martha Stewart put it together and there is an article
by Mr. Shimizu on the Nagai type of JI. There are also plenty of advertisers
for those of us who can't get enough.
I heartily recommend membership in SJI for anyone so inclined. Membership
chair is Bob Bauer, Ensata Gardens, 9823 E. Michigan Ave., Galesburg, MI
49053. (e-mail Ensata@aol.com)
Yummy.

was a dud.
