I've noticed, on a single bloom of AUTUMN BUGLER, small, short appendages
that look almost petaloid emerging from between the bases of the style
arms, just opposite the midribs of the standards. They are about 3/4" long
and there are 3 of them, one opposite each pair of standards.
Am I just seeing something very common and usual for the first time, or is
this new?
Anyone else ever see these "horns" on the standards?
Another bloom of the same stalk will open today and I'll check it for the
appendages. Check your own blooms and see if you can find them.
