Hi, Everyone!
I know, I know. This is not "iris" but in a way it is, because the year
2000 is coming up fast and we need to have our computers ready for this
so we can continue the iris-talk. This was sent to me, and I wanted to
pass it along.
"Is your computer prepared for the turn of the century? Well if not,
you may be in for an unpleasant surprise the moment you belt out the
first stanza to "auld lang syne." To ensure that your home computer can
handle the year 2000, do the folowing:"
1. Program the date on your computer to January 1, 2000.
2. Verify that the date has been set.
3. Turn off the computer and wait a few minutes.
4. Turn the computer back on and check the date. If your computer
doesn't display the January 1, 2000, you may have a problem.
5. Be sure to reset your computer to the correct date and time.
6. Upgrade your hardware and software. If you can't, call the
manufacturer to find out if your versions of hardware or software are
Year 2000 compliant.
Hope this helps when the time comes.
Pat in CO. Another beautiful day!
