Dear Celia and Anner et al. I love to look at LAs and I h ave grown them, but
I don;t have the space for them to wander around in, so I gave them up --
BUT somewhere on this list , I think it was, I got the idea that if I planted
them among the TBs I wouldn't have the worry of IDing them before they
bloomed, because they would be alone and easy to distinguish by foliage.
Right? If so I might try a very special one next planing season. As for the
Spuria ARCHIE OWEN, I will try to get that to add to the Should-Have-Been-A-
Dykes bed next season. I gave them up because they were an-answer-to-
borers'-prayers! They just LOVED spurias. But that was a long time ago, and
I will sacrifice to that chance and hope more modern methods might help, and
get an ARCHIE to plant if I can find
it. I knew Archie, herself, she was on an iris tour to Australia I was on and
I think
I have a picture of her standing by her namesake! So far,, the only two
should-have-beens that I have included are SOUTHERN COMFORT and AMERICA'S CUP
and, of course, VANITY everywhere I have a spot. Rosalie nr Baltimore, zone 7
