Hey folks--the Symposium Ballot is supposed to be your favorites--don't you
have a list in your head of favorites? This is a fun ballot--does not
require the effort of the Judge's Ballot--do not have to refer to notes to
see what is growing well and what is not--and it is a Tall Bearded
Ballot--the sections all have their own ballots--so why get so het up about
it--just run down the list and vote for favorites--old or new--and look at
the results to see how you compare with the final tally--no sweat--just
relax and vote--and be glad that the AIS thought enough of the ones which
were not listed the first time--to go ahead and do it the second time--at no
more cost to the members--and is asking for the answers soon--so that the
answers can get in the next Bulletin
If you want to get on a soap box about something--how about--
1.so many of the Iris being introduced today are not really that different
from some already in commerce-
2. So many of the ones being introduced today are not very cold hardy--and
to pay $ 35-40.00 for a new one which will probably freeze out the first
winter---is not too good on the pocketbook
3. Some of the ones being introduced today--darker colors--tend to
fade--sunburn--bleach out their color--during hot sun times--
The AIS Bulletin is put together by volunteers--and if the Post Office
screws up and does not send it out on time--which is what usually
happens--or your area Postal Center does not deliver it quickly--CONTACT THE
POST OFFICE--AND QUIT COMPLAINING TO AIS ABOUT GETTING YOUR BULLETIN A DAY
LATER THAN SOMEONE ELSE!!!!!
If you do not like the way AIS does things--then get active and volunteer
to do any job you can to help AIS improve what it does!!!
