I agree with Jeff that the falls on BLACK FALLS are blacker than the
the blooms of any black variety I've grown here. I would note that the
buds on SATAN'S MISTRESS as it grows here are blacker than any
as well. There is no discernable color other than black in the bud stage
and when compared to HELLO DARKNESS, SUPERSTITION, STUDY
IN BLACK, BLACK FALLS, only the latter doesn't have visible color
tints in comparison. Ruby red color shines, especially from the
standards, when it opens.
