We live on a standard city lot with 26 trees (read shady). Soil is heavy
clay with lots of rocks and roots. El nina's effect has been an average daily
temperature 7 degrees below normal.
Skating Party : Chopped into tiny pieces by cultivation, it yielded 40 fans
and enough blooms to look like a white hedge in 18 months.
Best rebloomers : Feedback then Boomarang.
Best color : Double Agent, then Persian Berry,Color Brite,Red At Night,and
Varga Girl
Best overall growth,bloom and increase:Color Splash, Creative Stitchery,
Edith Wolford, Hilltop View, Moomba, Secret Melodies, Victoria Falls
Best historic: San Francisco
Most promising: Violet Music, arrived Halloween.potted in a 4" pot,it has a
6 "stalk with 1 bloom showing color ! Shirlee arrived in August and has a
stalk with 5 blooms showing color.
Not-the-best: Fringe of Gold bloomed out. Witches Wand and Witches Sabbath
one bloom in three years.
