Re: Re: OT-SHIPPING: Packing Material

Hello All, after reading todays mails I found that I could put two topics
into one heading...I am a mail order nut and often recieve plants that had
been packaged in many different ways but the most successful arrangement is
when the plants are packaged in damp spagnum moss. I wonder if the
protective properties of the spagnum aid the plants survival as I always
thought it was used as an excellent moisture keeping packing...So I have
learnt something else new. The best packing is when the plants are wrapped
in spagnum moss and then tucked in beds of the shredded wood shavings.,,The
worst packing I have found is wet potting mix inside glad baggies..Turns
plants and bulbs into mouldy smelly squishy things..Yuck! The best news of
my day was to come home from this mornings milking to discover Temp Two's
catalogue in the mail box. I find it funny that we Aussies, particularily
me, who lives around 2 hours drive away, seems to be the last to get theirs,
but...it is worth the wait. What lovely new varieties....What wonderful
reading. Now for the ultimate way to shock your husband..the size of my
order....goody, goody:)..Jan Clark. I hope you have recieved your
catalogue...:) It's a beauty....Cheers for now, Wendy
Sargeant...wendon@dcsi.net.au where Smoke Rings and Chickory Charm are in
full bloom, i.germanicus is still going...also Philanderer, Silkirim ,Bamba,
and lots of PCNs.and I forgot to mention Bourne Graceful evansia.
