Yes, Jan,
    I had to use flowerless stems once this hot summer and it worked just fine.  I now have an idea to grind some up, steep them in water and use it to see if it will affect my rhizome rot.

  If there are no roses in bloom, I imagine a few pieces of rose cuttings
