	Is it Calcium or Calcium Carbonate [chalk] that is the problem?
Calcium Carbonate buffers acidity. Making it very hard to lower the Ph.
Calcium Sulfate [I think that's gypsum] doesn't. It can lower Ph.

	The other thing is unless you are watering with distilled water
then you are adding calcium to some extent. Our tap water is high in
temporary hardness much of it calcium carbonate. Not to mention what is
naturally in what we call soil.
